5th Annual New Orleans International Children’s Film Festival

WHAT:
The New Orleans Film Society, the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival (LAICFF) and the Contemporary Arts Center present the 5th Annual New Orleans International Children’s Film Festival. Originally intended as a gift to the families of New Orleans three years after Katrina, the festival is now celebrating its 5th year. This year the festival’s program includes over 40 films in three different categories: Animated, Live Action, and Documentary. The days are arranged in 1-2 hour blocks of short films grouped thematically or by age group. Since 1989, the New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) (http://neworleansfilmsociety.org) has engaged, educated, and inspired through the art of film. This year, 2012, marked the 23rd anniversary of the New Orleans Film Festival. NOFS hosts special events throughout the year: the French Film Festival, the New Orleans International Children’s Film Festival, and other events designed to benefit local film audiences, artists, and professionals. NOFS partners with local organizations to present monthly film series. NOFS reaches approximately 25,000 people annually through its programming. NOFS is a 501(c)3 organization.
