In total, nearly 100 acts will perform in over 10 venues in the Marigny / Bywater over 3 days – March 9-11. Plus, foburg 2012 is expanding into new territories with the launch of foburg.film, foburg.comedy, and more!

foburg.film is being produced by programming partners, Jon Jackson and Time Code Nola, and will screen both shorts and features from New Orleans and abroad. Films include Polish short “Paths of Hate”, 2011 Sundance Official Selection “The Hunter & The Swan Discuss their Meeting”, local production ‘Bury The Hatchet” and “Unheard of”, and many more. Film venues include Mimis in The Marigny and Lost Love Longe. In addition, films will be projected onto the wall of an outdoor lot with wireless headphones – silent disco style – and the 24 Hour Film Festival will return with filmmakers having 24 hours to shoot, edit, and deliver music videos for many bands playing foburg this year!

foburg.comedy will be produced by local comedy troop, The New Movement, at their new comedy club located at 1919 Burgundy Street and in other foburg venues. Comedians from New York to L.A. will perform including Cyrus Coope, Dane Faucheux, Chris Trew, Drew Platt, John F. O’Donnell, Stupid Time Machine, Karl Hess, and more!

As always, all shows can be attended by paying an individual cover, or patrons can buy a foburg weekend pass, which grants access to all of the programming – music, film, and comedy. Foburg weekend passes will be on-sale later this week starting at $25, which is less than $1 per show!

foburg is a 3rd year alternative music festival held in multiple venues in the Marigny / Bywater neighborhoods of New Orleans the week before South By Southwest in Austin Texas. The festival was started to provide touring acts with a convenience stop on their way to Austin and to provide local acts with opportunities to perform with them. Foburg is produced by the noirCollective in collaboration with local programming partners such as Dirty Coast, WTUL 91.5fm, Simple Play Productions, Chinquapin Records, Deft Jam, Powdered Sugar Presents, Easy Apple, Open House Music, and more.
