Restaurateur Vicky Bayley announces that Koi, a unique, new pop-up restaurant located inside of Twist (628 St. Charles Avenue) will start serving Chef Mike Fennelly’s Asian inspired cuisine on Wednesday, August 8 at 5:30pm and will dish up the casual fare every Wednesday night thereafter.
The Award-winning, nationally recognized chef has crafted a special Asian influenced menu of casual, contemporary cuisine including hand-made sushi rolls, Korean BBQ, Vietnamese Po-Boys, noodle bowls and salads. Additionally, Koi will showcase a variety of unique sake cocktails including Saki Thyme Lemonade, Sake Ginger Mint Julep and Sake Blossom (a flight of all three will be offered for just $1.) Modern and stylish with a distinct Oriental sense, the lounge is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm til midnight.
“We wanted to create a space with a modern, laid-back vibe, delicious casual food and creative, unpretentious cocktails” explains Fennelly. While there are many cool bars and lounges in New Orleans, none offer the characteristic Asian flair that we’re bringing to Koi. It’s a uniquely flavorful and exotic experience,” he added.
