Opera Ball 2012 Pikovaya Dama

The Women’s Guild and the Junior Committee, of the New Orleans Opera Association, in the spirit of past Czars and Czarinas of Russia, invite you to join us for Opera Ball 2012, to be held on May 5, 2012, at the magnificent Empire Ballroom in the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Composer Tchaikovsky’s opera inspiration, Pikovaya Dama will take us back to the opulence of 1800′s St. Petersburg, Russia. Be prepared to experience an evening beginning with the “Czar’s and Czarina’s Reception,” including signature Russian cocktails, Russian delicacies, an exciting silent auction and surprise guest appearances. Later, you will enjoy an elegant seated dinner, Russian entertainment, and music for dancing.

As we expect the tickets to go fast, please take time to fill out this card and return before Feb. 15, to ensure your name is in the Ball invitation and program. All donors at the $275 level and above will receive invitations to the Ball’s sought-after Pikovaya Dama Benefactor Party (March 1), at the St. Charles Avenue home of John Houghtaling, where we will unveil the painting of this year’s chosen artist – Beth Cristina.

All proceeds from this major fundraiser will allow us to keep the great tradition of Opera alive in New Orleans (the first city of opera in the country) by assisting New Orleans Opera in the support of its productions and educational programs for children in our area.

You don’t want to miss this spectacular event and the splendor of the evening, as we reminisce in the storied 1800′s Czarist Russia.
