Brooke E. Posey Swim-a-Thon is excited to announce its 6th year of children raising money for children! Kids Join the Fight’s mission is to empower kids to join the fight against pediatric cancer by raising money to provide local CARE for pediatric cancer patients and their families and to fund research to CURE childhood cancer.
In our first five years, we’ve raised over $74,000 to aid local children’s charities. This event is not just for swimmers. Fair games, prizes, a parade of prize raffle and food round out the swim-a-thon. Ernest Posey, director at the Foundation and Brooke’s father

About Brooke E. Posey Foundation:
The Brooke E. Posey Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in April 2019 to honor the memory of Brooke Posey, a student, and athlete who was killed in an accident at the age of 17. Its mission is to promote charitable and educational events for local children’s charities and spread awareness for those charities in memory of Brooke. The foundation, partnering with the Southern Yacht Club and its SYC Seagulls swim team, has raised over $74,000 in the past five years for children’s charities in Brooke’s memory.
About Kids Join the Fight:
The key objective of their organization is to make an impact to better the CARE of pediatric cancer patients in their local setting and to fund targeted research studies to find a CURE – all while eliminating the added strain on the families of the patients. In doing this important work, they also hope to raise awareness about the extreme underfunding of pediatric cancer research and how it leaves our most vulnerable population, children, with only archaic and toxic treatment options and complicated care systems.
