A Night of Honor: The National WWII Museum’s Victory Ball

Event Date: November 7, 2025 |

On Friday, November 7, 2025, New Orleans’ National WWII Museum—often informally referred to by its visitors as the “Victory Museum”—hosted its annual Victory Ball. This black-tie gala is one of the museum’s most significant fundraisers, serving as both a glamorous social event and a crucial mechanism for securing funds to preserve history.

Saluting Service and Sacrifice

The theme for this year’s Victory Ball was a “Salute to Service,” honoring the men and women who served in World War II and those who continue to serve in all conflicts. The timing, just before Veterans Day (November 11th), makes it a poignant event for recognizing the dedication and sacrifices made for freedom.

The evening took place in the dramatic US Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center, a sprawling space housing massive, restored warplanes like a B-17 Flying Fortress. Guests, encouraged to wear 1940s-inspired ensembles, enjoyed cocktails, fine culinary creations, live music, and dancing. A highlight was the appearance of a Medal of Honor Recipient as the guest of honor, providing a powerful, firsthand connection to American valor.

Supporting the Museum’s Mission

While it’s a night of celebration, the Victory Ball’s core purpose is to raise critical operating funds. Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships support the museum’s ongoing mission, including:

By participating, attendees help the museum continue to tell the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world, ensuring that the legacy of the “Greatest Generation” is never forgotten. The Victory Ball is a fitting tribute, using New Orleans’ unique festive culture to secure the future of this national treasure.
