A Special Treat At Wednesday At The Square
We are about half way through the Spring edition of the popular concert series – Wednesday at the Square.
Yesterday, Wednesday, April 10, 2019, if you attended the concert, you would have enjoyed great music by Eric Lindell and Deltaphonic, and amazing local food. It was truly a great Wednesday at the Square, especially with a special treat this time…. Buffalo Trace Bourbon was serving up samples of some of their finest Bourbons. Master Distiller, Harlen Wheatley, was right there to answer your questions! Wheatley oversees production of brands including Blanton’s and Pappy Van Winkle.

About Harlen Wheatley
Wheatley’s formal education in chemistry and chemical engineering brought him to Buffalo Trace Distillery, but it’s the on-the-job experience that led him to become the resident Master Distiller in 2005.
Born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, in 1969, Wheatley has spent almost all of his life in the Bluegrass State. After relocating and spending much of his youth in Florence, KY, Wheatley attended Northern Kentucky University, attaining his degree in chemistry.
Wheatley joined the Distillery as a supervisor in 1995. Not long after, the Distillery was rechristened and the flagship Buffalo Trace Bourbon was introduced. He became Master Distiller in 2005, making him Buffalo Trace’s sixth Master Distiller since the Civil War.
Wheatley is a four-time James Beard Award nominee in the Outstanding Wine and Spirits Professional category.
