Degas House to Celebrate Bastille Day In Style
Degas House – the only home of French Impressionist artist Edgar Degas in the world open to the public – will host a celebration of Bastille Day (French National Day) and the artist’s 184th birthday. The celebration on Thursday, July 12th (5:30pm to 8:30pm) will include live entertainment, the singing of the French and American national anthems, passed hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, as well as a birthday cake in honor of Edgar Degas.
About Degas House
The house is a museum and hosts guided tours, bed and breakfast guests, special events, and wedding ceremonies and receptions. It is also the home of the Edgar Degas Foundation which seeks to preserve the legacy of Degas in New Orleans and provide education and cultural programming.
