Drag Me to The Roosevelt: An LGBTQ History Tour

To honor the history of gay culture in New Orleans during Pride Month, The Roosevelt presents Drag Me to The Roosevelt, a two-hour interactive exploration of New Orleans’s gay history. Join us for this walking tour, beginning in the historic Roosevelt Hotel and then traveling on to explore the French Quarter. You’ll discover the origins of Southern Decadence, the evolution of gay carnival, and the story of the tragic Upstairs Lounge Fire. Learn about the favorite haunts and watering holes of Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote and efforts to preserve this history through the LGBT Archives of Louisiana project.
