PhotoNOLA Festival

December 8-12, 2021

NEW ORLEANS, LA — PhotoNOLA, Louisiana’s largest photography event, will be celebrating its 16th annual festival, December 8-12, 2021.

PhotoNOLA is produced by the New Orleans Photo Alliance in partnership with museums, galleries, local businesses, and art community organizations city-wide. PhotoNOLA draws hundreds of photography professionals to the city to partake in a variety of educational programs, and reaches broadly into the local community with exhibitions and events that are largely free and open to the public.

This year’s festival schedule features a portfolio review, workshops, artist talks, receptions, and nearly 40 exhibition sites. For more information on festival programing, visit photonola.org

Photographic Exhibitions opening during PhotoNOLA

NEW ORLEANS, LA — New Orleans Photo Alliance announces two exhibitions opening during the 16th Annual PhotoNOLA Festival, December 8-12, 2021. For more information on festival exhibitions and events, visit photonola.org.

CURRENTS, NOPA’s annual juried membership showcase, will be on view at The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, December 10, 2021-February 6, 2022. Juried by fine art gallerist and educator, Michael Foley, CURRENTS will feature work by ten photographers, including: Elijah Barrett, JoAnn Chaus, Pamela Connolly,  Margo Duvall, Jon Feinstein, Camille Lenain, Melissa Lynn, Mary Anne Mitchell, Ellen Rosenberg and Sue Palmer Stone .

A public opening reception will be held Friday, December 10, 6-9 pm.

See You at Home, a solo exhibition of photographic work by Vikesh Kapoor, will be on view at the New Orleans Photo Alliance Galley, 7800 Oak Street, December 8, 2021-January 29, 2022. This photographic body of work is themed around Kapoor’s questions of family, identity and personal history born of a trip to India, his family’s homeland. Kapoor is the 2019 PhotoNOLA Review Prize Winner.

A public opening and artist talk will be held Thursday, December 9, 6-9 pm.
