- The Sisters Sippin’ Tea Literary Group will hold its 30th Reunion “SIP”in New Orleans at the Embassy Suites Hotel. April 21-23. The organization is one of the few black book clubs still in existence today with more than eleven established chapters throughout the United States.The Sisters meet monthly to discuss and rate the books that are read. Each year, the “Core Chapter” based in Houston, Texas invite famous authors to come and share their inspiration and motivation for the written word with their readers. Oftentimes, the group travel to various cities to tour fictional places depicted in a story telling novels. During the holiday season, the group exchanges teapots the symbol of our love of a quiet corner and a cup of hot tea.
