Virgin Hotels New Orleans Celebrates Women’s History Month With Festive Programming – March 2024

As Women’s History Month kicks off in March, Virgin Hotels New Orleans proudly announces special programming to celebrate the global commemoration. From specialty cocktails to empowering gatherings and elevated dining experiences, the lifestyle hotel will honor and uplift women during Women’s History Month.
Every Thursday in March from 6 – 9 PM, Commons Club will host Empower Hour – a rotating lineup of talented female artists and a delicious selection of specialty Women’s History Month cocktails, including Hortensia, Frida Kahlo, Rihanna, and Dolly. Don’t forget to indulge in Executive Chef Chris Borges’ dishes like the Duck Confit Hash with celery root, mushroom ragu, farm egg, and salsa verde, and Iberico Pork Flank with Louisiana crab dirty rice, chard, sherry jus, and salsa verde. The Pool Club will throw a Girls Just Wanna Have Sun extravaganza starting on Saturday, March 9th. The all-day event will be held every Saturday and Sunday in March. Enjoy DJ entertainment on Sundays from 3 – 7 PM, and sip and savor from the “Future is Female” cocktail list. Women-inspired cocktails include Hortensia – inspired by the first female attorney, this refreshing cocktail features Hendricks, Italicus, Lillet Blanc and is topped with bubbles and garnished with edible flowers; Frida Kahlo – inspired by the prolific Mexican artist, this cocktail features Herradura Reposado, ginger liqueur, orgeat, fresh orange juice and lime, served with a dehydrated orange rim; Rihanna – Mt. Gay rum, Bitter Truth falernum, Chinola, lime and tiki bitters; and Dolly, the living legend, with Uncle Nearest, apricot brandy, lemon, Demerara, lemon and Polynesian bitters.
Every Sunday, starting on March 10th, head over to Dreamboat and rejuvenate minds and bodies with a yoga class led by Cally Nielson at 11 AM. Following the session, participants can enjoy post-yoga food and beverage offerings. To culminate the festivities, on Friday, March 22nd, Commons Club will host Divine Dining – an elevated three-course prix fixe dinner celebrating women in the city. Priced at $99 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), diners can indulge in specialty dishes from Executive Chef Chris Borges, highlighting West Coast and Mediterranean cuisine. Tickets for this exclusive dinner are limited.
Head upstairs to The Pool Club on March 22nd from 3 – 7 PM for Floral Affairs: A Hendricks Spring Splash. Paying tribute to Hendricks’ female master distiller, Lesley Gracie, the evening will feature a delightful array of floral cocktails with signature Hendricks Original and Hendricks Grand Cabaret. Guests can also put their creativity on display at the DIY flower bar. To top the night off, any customer who purchases a Hendricks cocktail can build a botanical bouquet. The evening will also feature a variety of vendors, including Arrow Swimwear and more.
