Did you know that the 2018 season is Celebration in the Oaks’ 32nd anniversary? Celebration in the Oaks in City Park is one of the most spectacular holiday lights festivals in the country, with more than 165,000 visitors pouring into the Park to see the magical winter spectacle. City Park’s famous oaks are glistening in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights and breathtaking light displays are scattered throughout 25 acres of the Park, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland, and Carousel Gardens Amusement Park. What You Need To Know About This Year’s Attractions

Celebration In The Oaks is a New Orleans Holiday tradition. The annual light spectacle began in in the late 1980s and has been growing ever since. Here is a look at some of the attractions you know and love and the latest additions.

Favorite Exhibits

You will find the “Tree of Celebration” in the middle of the Botanical Garden. The tree is dripping with over 50,000 LED bulbs. It is one of the most romantic attractions within the Event. T-Rex and Friends will once again delight all ages on the train route. The Story of the Cajun Night Before Christmas comes alive to entertain children and adults alike, also located in the Botanical Garden. Mr. Bingle, who is turning 71 this year, will also make an appearance and be available for family photos.

New Exhibits

New, on the train route this year, is a Holiday Crawfish Boil with all the makings. You will also want to check out the newest addition to the French Quarter Scene, a traditional streetcar. This year, there will also be two Merry Kissmas kissing booths to spread the Holiday cheer. You will find mushrooms sprouting up around  the shade garden. The Celebration in the Oaks miniature holiday village collection is a new and unique exhibit that will surely make you and your family smile. You will find it just across from the entrance to the Pavilion of the Two Sisters.
