huey p long bridge runLike the other races in the Louisiana Bridge Run Series, the The Great Huey P. Long Bridge Run will be on the bridge.  We will be able to #GeauxOverIt for our 5K (3.1 miles) on May 12, 2018 — once again, the day before Mother’s Day.

Each year, we have been lucky to have a great turn out, incredible food and beverage options provided by Abita Brewing Company, the Gumbo Festival and Jambalaya Girl and great music from local bands. After the crossing, enjoy live performances and local dishes, like gumbo from our friends at the Gumbo Festival, served up in the shadow of the bridge.

Each year, runners enjoy a professional, safe race experience and receive premiums to commemorative their crossing. We know its a challenge worth celebrating for flatlands who go vertical when competing in the 5k/3.1 mile race.

As we prepare for this year’s event, please share your feedback and insights on our Facebook page or email to Dan Bourgeois, at [email protected]

Since 2013, The Great Huey P. Long Bridge Run, a 5K run/walk, has celebrated of the majestic views provided by an historic bridge established in 1935 and revised in 2013 with the incredible widening project.

We know it’s not easy crossing The Great Huey P, but it sure is fun and its a great way to get a bird’s eye view of southeast Louisiana.
