Krewe Du Vieux, Krewe Boheme & Tit’ Rex Parade Video

The busy parade season is finally here. You may not be able to catch all of them. In case you missed some, we have parade video you may want to check out.

Krewe Bohème Inaugural Parade

La Vie Bohème represented this krewe’s arrival on the Carnival scene. The costumes featured a slice of life of this fantastical, free-spirited krewe. The eclectic revelers presented a visual and auditory feast of mystery, artistry and fun. The marching parade had dozens of sub krewes including, but not limited to: Krewe of Goddesses, The Merry Antoinettes, Krewe of R.U.M. (Really Unsophisticated Men), Krewe of King James: The Super Bad Sex Machine, Krewe of Hellarious Wingnuts, Krewe of S.L.U.T.S. (Sexy Ladies Up to Something), Krewe What Thou Wilt. The krewes rolled through the Marigny and French Quarter during L’Heure Verte on Friday, February 15, 2019. Check out some of our parade video!

Krewe Du Vieux

The “Krewe du Vieux Carre”  marches in the French Quarter on the third Saturday before Fat Tuesday. The Krewe’s historical name, suggested by Don Marshall, paid homage to Le Petit Theatre, one of KdV’s earliest supporters. The theater was the pre-parade gathering spot for several years, with many of their performers joining the entourage. Krewe du Vieux rolled on Saturday, February 16. This year’s theme was “City of yes, yes oh god yes.” As always, the krewe offered a crude sometimes rude, most definitely raunchy and cynical, but always fun view of today’s issues. It’s a parade you just have to see…take a look at our video!

Tit’ Rex

34 miniature floats paraded through the Marigny to the music of Egg Yolk Jubilee, Panorama Brass Band, Where Y’at Brass Band and Slow Danger. ‘tit Rəx is New Orleans only MicroKrewe. A group of artists, business people, teachers, workers and bon vivants founded ‘tit Rəx in 2008 in a response to the super krewes constantly setting records for floats, throws and extravagance. ‘tit Rəx takes an opposite approach focusing instead of on massive floats that take up entire blocks, the ‘tit Rəx floats are made out of shoeboxes that look like full size floats. Take a look at some of those amazing creations!
