Founded in 1993, the Krewe of Barkus is New Orleans only canine Mardi Gras krewe. This years parade is on February 19th,2017, starting at 2pm as in previous years the parade will start at Armstrong Park. This unique dog parade winds its way through the Historic French Quarter, where parade goers will be treated to a parade like no other. Beads will be thrown as well as treats for our four legged Mardi Gras Krewe and marchers. This year’s theme is Pirates of the Crescent City: Barkus Tells A Tale of Jean LaFleabag

Barkus Royalty

The Mystic Krewe of Barkus is unlike any royalty you have ever seen. They come in all sizes, shapes, and of course area ll furry. The royal Queen is always a former rescue, The Mystic Krewe of Barkus - Chihuahuashelter dog and the king is chosen from the krewes members. This royal couple celebrate  there reign with a toast at world famous Galatoire’s Restaurant.
