Krewe Of Cork

The Krewe of Cork will be marching through the French Quarter on Friday, February 14 starting at 3 pm. The spirited walking Krewe celebrates wine, food and fun. As you can see in the video on top of this article, Krewe members wear costumes that all relate to wine. From corks, to cork screws, to wine glasses and giant grapes… everything wine gets incorporated into these creative costumes.

The Krewe starts on Royal Street between Peter and Toulouse. The Krewe of Cork parades down Royal street to Bienville St. After one block it turns on Bourbon St. till it gets to St. Ann St.. From St. Ann the parade continues down Chartres St. Once the Krewe of Cork reaches St. Peter St., the parade turns northwest and proceed to Royal Street. The Krewe will parade down Royal and will come to an end on Conti St between Royal and Bourbon. The Krewe of Cork throws all have the Krewe grape logo.

A Little History

The Krewe of Cork was founded back in 2000. The parade has grown into quite a spectacle since then. Thousands line the streets every year to catch a glimpse of this fun Krewe. The parade’s Grand Marshal is a wine producer every year. The 2020 Grand Marshal will be Charles Smith of Wine of Substance.
