New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced on Thursday (10/01) that the city will move toward Phase 3 of the reopening process. As a matter of fact, she called the next Phase 3.1, meaning some restrictions will remain in place. Phase 3.1 will start on Saturday October 3rd. Depending on the success of phase 3.1, phases 3.2 and 3.3 would follow.
What You Need To Know About Phase 3.1
Bars (without a food permit), which have been closed since July, will be allowed to sell to go-go drinks.
The city will increase restaurant capacity to 75% indoors and 100% outdoors. Businesses and retail services will also have increased capacity of 75%.
During Phase 3.1 you still must practice social distancing, wash your hands often, and disinfect surfaces frequently. You also still must wear a mask or face covering when doing things outside.
Halloween will look different this year, but will not be cancelled the Mayor promised. Everyone must wear a mask or face covering when performing activities in public.
