Did You Know
Everyone can help end Parkinson’s disease.
An estimated five million people worldwide live with Parkinson’s today. It is the second most common neurological disorder. In the United States, approximately 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. Currently, available treatments can only temporarily mask symptoms while the disease continues to progress.
Unfortunately, there is no known cure for Parkinson’s disease. Together, we can change this.
To date, MJFF has funded more than $800 million in Parkinson’s research, making it the largest nonprofit funder in this field. With seven on-staff PhDs, an MD, and several business strategists, MJFF has the expertise to evaluate the most promising research opportunities and to assess which areas hold the most promise for improving the treatment of PD. MJFF is not chapter-based and has no endowment. It does everything it can to speed the intellectual and financial resources into the hands of scientists as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Team Fox NOLA serves as a long term ambassador for MJFF and Team Fox—the Foundation’s grassroots fundraising program—by working to engage our local community in raising funds and awareness for Parkinson’s research. While many of us have a personal connection to Parkinson’s disease, others are simply inspired to make a difference, and some, well, they just have a fond memory of Marty McFly. 100% of the money we raise goes directly towards funding critical Parkinson’s research.
If you are a New Orleans resident, or just visiting, we would love to see you at Pins for Parkinson’s. If you cannot attend, we welcome your donation to our page as we have one goal in helping to FIND A CURE!
