The New Orleans Ultramarathon

The New Orleans Ultramarathon is a 100% urban race that will take participants all over the beautiful city of New Orleans through and by many varying neighborhoods, parks, and waterways. The first 31 miles will be identical for all runners, and the 50k participants will finish at Second Line Brewing. The 50 mile participants will continue on and do a 19-mile out-and-back section before finishing at Second Line Brewing as well.

The New Orleans Ultramarathon Details

NEW ORLEANS ULTRAMARATHON: 50 MILE AND 50K. SATURDAY, OCT. 9, 2021 @ 6:00AM. JACKSON SQUARE.

Cutoff Times: 50 mile (12 hours – 6:00 pm) / 50k (8 hours – 2:00 pm). We want to make sure you finish! This should give you plenty of time. If you need an extra hour to start early at 5am, please notify and get permission from the the Race Director (caseyurschel@gmail.com)

Aid Stations: There will be aid stations every 5ish miles, and they will be well stocked and well attended. If there is something you would like to have, please let me know (caseyurschel@gmail.com), but there are no guarantees. You’ll find standard ultra aid station stuff. Candy, pretzels, fruit, soft drinks, sports drink, etc, as well as some specialty items and hot food that will vary by aid station.

Pacers: Allowed beginning at mile 20. This is a great way to help ensure you accomplish your goal and make it to the finish!

Highly suggested: Carry a little cash, a credit card, a cell phone, and printed directions with you. You never know when it may be beneficial to stop in at a gas station, coffee shop, bar, grocery store, etc.

Drops: If you decide to drop from the race for any reason, you MUST inform either the race directors: (Casey Urschel 504-373-7694 / caseyurschel@gmail.com, Angela Moore 601-606-5641 / imarunningfool@live.com), or an aid station captain asap. This is vital to ensuring the safety of you and everyone else.
