A Thanksgiving Tradition Like No Other!
Get ready for the 5th Annual Human Horse Races on November 28th, 2024 11am-3pm in New Orleans!
This wildly unique event features people dressed as horses racing each other—all to raise money for Louisiana Horse Sanctuaries that house abandoned and retired horses.
This year’s beneficiary is Greeno Equine Sanctuary. It’s a day of fun, creativity, and community, all while supporting ethical entertainment and animal welfare.
Event Details:
- Date & Time: November 28th, 2024 (Thanksgiving Day) 11am-3pm
- Location: Easton Park, 3141 Toulouse St., New Orleans, LA (midcity)
- Kids Track: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Adult & Family Races: Start at 11:30 AM on Main Track (8 Adult Races, 3 Family Races)
- Halftime Show: 1:15 PM – Featuring dance performances by The Jamettes, animal welfare songs by the N.O. Law Choir, and live music by The Dapper Dandies
- 4 Costume Contests: Best Hat (Top of the Hats), Best Suit (Most Dapper), Best Overall (Best in Show), and Best Kids Costume (Fanciest Foal)
- Vendors: Delicious food and unique art all day!
- Raffle Prizes: Enter our raffle by “Betting” on what horse you think will win in our Adult Races to enter a chance to win a prize basket filled with goodies from local businesses.

Registration for our Adult and Family Races are day-of, on a first-come first-serve basis.
Adult Races are $10 a team,
Family Races are $5 a team
