It’s a film that digs deep into the soul of the city, showcasing the Monogram Hunters Black Masking Indians in their Carnival Day preparations, and connecting the ancestral rhythms of Congo Square with the spirited Second Line parades and Jazz Funerals. This understanding of the past serves as a bridge to the film’s forward-looking perspective, emphasizing the importance of youth engagement and modern efforts for cultural exchange and preservation.

“The Jazz Crawl,” JCP’s flagship initiative, is a cultural exchange tour fueled by New Orleans artists and the community bonding power of the Second Line tradition. It’s where music becomes a universal language and pop-up parades grow into international festivals. The Kickstarter aims to garner national and international recognition, fueling ‘The Jazz Crawl’ with a vision of perpetual growth, like a second line expanding from block to block. Tours in the next two years, featured in our film, extend an ongoing invitation for audiences worldwide to experience and support these cultural art forms.
