Black Tech NOLA: Creative Summit

NOLAvate Black, the largest Black Tech conference in the region, will be hosting its Black Tech NOLA Creator Summit Monday, November 4, 2024 10am-3pm at Loyola University in New Orleans presented by New Orleans Tourism & Cultural Fund. Now in its 7th year, the annual event will be convening creatives and innovators across the region to talk about artificial intelligence and the future of tech. The Black Tech NOLA will highlight career pathways in technology, music, film, and entertainment to include talks and panel discussions from industry leaders, a Talent Expo featuring employers hiring for tech jobs, and an Explore Tech Lab with workshops for those interested in technology. About NOLAvate Black

NOLAvate Black launched Black Tech NOLA in 2018 to address racial barriers preventing underrepresented talent from gaining access to high-demand and high-wage jobs in the growing technology sector. The annual convening has reached thousands of technologists and diversity and inclusion advocates around the world making it the largest Black Tech conference in the region. NOLAvate Black is now partnering with Microsoft and T-Mobile to address digital equity in the region.

In 2023, Microsoft announced that they will be expanding its TechSpark Program in Louisiana naming NOLAvate Black Founder & CEO Sabrina Short a Fellow. TechSpark programming aims to tackle digital inclusion in four focus areas: digital access, digital skills, computer science education, and digital transformation with local based organizations. Since its inception in 2017, TechSpark has helped its eight communities secure more than $125 million in community funding, skilling 55,000 people, and creating 3,300 jobs. NOLAvate Black is led by Founder and CEO Sabrina N. Short, a community organizer and tech advocate. Sabrina’s unwavering passion for community and social justice has driven her to build the largest Black tech community in the Gulf South.
