Building Healthy Communities: Climate Conversations

July 5 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

Climate change has already left an undeniable mark on our world, and its effects are especially felt in communities of color who deal with environmental injustices. This July, The 19th is headed to New Orleans to gather major voices on the front lines of the climate crisis to discuss what it takes to build and sustain healthy communities.

Join us for a free brunch event featuring impactful and intimate conversations. Together with experts in climate policy, health initiatives and environmental justice, we will discuss solutions to this growing problem. From providing better access to greenspaces to protecting local air and water quality, Black leaders have long been advocating for crucial climate objectives within their local communities and at the national level.

However, there is still much work to do. Our event will conclude with a solutions session where everyone in the room can engage deeply with the leaders and experts in attendance — as well as learn from each other in regards to keeping communities healthy in the coming decades.

*Note that while this event is adjacent to the 2024 Essence Fest, you will not need Essence Fest passes for entry.
