During the holidays, there are so many wonderful things to do all around town, but The Nutcracker Ballet is a wonderful theater tradition not to miss out on.
For two days only, December 21 and December 22, 2019, the Delta Festival Ballet’s The Nutcracker will be coming to the Mahalia Jackson Theater. This is the longest running production of the The Nutcracker in New Orleans. Plus, it is the only one that is accompanied by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. The ballet will include acclaimed ballet stars, local artists and the youth corp of over 100 local dancers.

What is The Nutcracker Ballet About?
The Nutcracker is a classical ballet that consists of two acts and is based on the 1816 Fairly Tale – The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. The ballet tells a delightful story of a young girl who befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King.

The mission of Delta Festival Ballet is to foster an appreciation of the ballet art form in the Greater New Orleans area and throughout Louisiana.
