Being alone in the hospital can be an awful experience, especially for children. Since 1983, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana have provided a “home away from” at 4403 Canal Street in New Orleans. Each year, over 435 families who travel from far away to come to the New Orleans area for medical treatment are housed at the Ronald McDonald House.  At Ronald McDonald House, they find a free place to stay, meals to eat, transportation if needed, and a built-in support system where families help one other. Together, they face and overcome some of the most trying times in their lives. Proceeds from the Kilts for Kids fundraiser goes a long way to helping RMHC-SLA provide this service to out of town families from Louisiana and across the United States and abroad.
