To celebrate not only the fact the 2020 is a leap year, but also that March is Women’s history month The New Orleans Historic Collection (NOHTC) is kicking off a series of programming and online articles with a “Leap into Women’s History Month” party.

What To Expect
Did you know that March is Women’s History Month, and 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States? When coming over to the party at 520 Royal St. dress as your favorite female icon for an afternoon of fun. Expect living history suffragettes, cake, refreshments, and a suffragette sash-making station. You will also get a chance to sample THNOC’s new “Women in New Orleans History” guided tours, which will debut March 1. Author Cheryl Gerber will be on site signing copies of her book “Cherchez La Femme.”
This is a free event. You don’t have to register and you don’t have to wear a costume. While you’re there, you may also want to check out the several stories of women in New Orleans sports history in THNOC’s exhibition Crescent City Sport: Stories of Courage and Change.
