The city of New Orleans has canceled all St. Patrick’s Day Parades and festivities due to Coronavirus concerns!
Officials in Jefferson also decided to cancel their St. Patrick’s Day Parades!
New Orleans may have just finished Mardi Gras, but that does not mean we are finished with parades and parties. The St. Patrick’s Day Festivities are just beginning and they get started right after carnival. So, pack up the purple and gold, and just get all the green you can find because the fun is just getting started for St. Patrick’s Day.
Downtown Irish Club’s Annual Block Party
Sunday, March 1, 2020, 12pm-5pm
Come own down to The Old Ironworks on 612 Piety Street in New Orleans for the D.I.C. Block Party 2020 to start off the St. Patrick’s Day Festivities early. This year there will be performances by an American Idol Contestant, Faith Becnel who is from Louisiana. There will be food from Jack Dempsey’s, plenty of beverages, raffle prizes from local vendors. Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Practice March

Practice makes perfect and the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club wants to make sure everything is perfect with a practice march. The Practice March will take place on Friday, March 6, 2020, from 11am until 5pm. The group assembles on Jackson Square. This year’s Grand Marshal for the parade is Frank Denny. The group makes several stops throughout the city as the march. Everyone is sure to have a great time from the marches to the parade-goers.
Downtown Irish Club Parade

This annual parade begins at the corner of Burgundy and Piety in the Bywater. There are several stops along the way as they go up Royal, Esplanade, Decatur, Canal and Bourbon. Don’t worry this parade has great throws, lots of flowers, and plenty of kisses to go around. This club knows how to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day Festivities in New Orleans.
Molly’s at the Market Irish Parade

Molly’s at the Market Irish Parade will take place on Friday, March 13, 2020, at 6:00pm. The parade begins and ends at 1107 Decatur Street in New Orleans.This parade features marching bands, dance crews and carriage riders which makes it very unique and fun. Definitely a great way to enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day Festivities.
Parasol’s Block Party Celebration

You don’t want to be tardy for this Party! Parasol’s is located in the heart of the New Orleans Irish Channel on the corner of Constance and Third Street at 2533 Constance Street. The party starts on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 10am until 8pm or later. This bar is always fun to go to year round, but throughout the St. Patrick’s Day celebration, it is one of the best places to party. They have great music, green beer, and lots of dancing to Irish music.Plus, the roast beef po-boy is something that really goes well with green beer.

This block party promises a fabulous DJ that will keep you dancing all day long into the evening. Tracey’s will also have Green Beer, Green Jello shots, and of course some great things to eat like corned beef, cabbage, roast beef, shrimp and other po-boys.

St. Patrick’s Parade & Celebration (Covington)

The 4th Annual St. Patrick’s March throughout downtown Covington will be Saturday, March 14th beginning at 12pm. It is kid friendly and free. After the parade there will be a block party until 5pm in front of the Jewel’s Cigar & Briar Shop with music, food, beer and more.
Italian-American St. Joseph’s Parade in the French Quarter

Come out and celebrate with the St. Joseph’s Society. The group celebrates St. Joseph with a parade through the French Quarter. The parade starts at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Convention Center Blvd. and Girod Street. Parade goers will enjoy 16 floats, nine marching bands and a whole lot of guys dressed in tuxedos having a great time.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Metairie Road

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Metairie Road was founded in 1971 and has continued to grow in size over the past forty 50 years. The parade features lots of floats, trucks, bands, marching clubs and fun. The throws are very useful too as many of them consist of carrots, cabbages, potatoes, onions, Irish Spring Soap, and of course beads and plush toys. This is definitely a great parade for families to enjoy. Some come celebrate the luck of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.
Irish Channel Block Party

Head on down to Annunciation Park at 1500 Annunciation Street in New Orleans for the St. Patrick’s Day Irish Channel Block Party. At always, there will be FREE music and entertainment. Plus, there will be lots of food and of course beverages to purchase. All proceeds benefit St. Michael Special School.
Louisiana Irish-Italian Parade in Metairie

This is definitely one of the best parades for kids to enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day Festivities. This parade takes place in Metairie on Veterans Boulevard. This parade has lots of floats, beads, flowers, and kisses to hand out to all parade goers. This year’s grand marshals are John Theriot and Desi Vega.
St. Bernard Irish Italian Islenos Parade
Saturday, April 4, 2020, Starts at Noon
This parade takes place in Chalmette, Louisiana. Come out and see more than 40 floats and more than 40 marching groups. There are hundreds of thousands of pounds of cabbage, onions, bananas, oranges, and so much more for everyone to catch during the parade and to enjoy after the parade. This is a great parade to wrap up the St. Patrick’s Day Festivities for the season.
