HNOC Ce Soir: “New Orleans Musicians in Art”

November 12 @ 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Free

Enjoy extended hours at the museum as we celebrate the opening of New Orleans Musicians in Art, HNOC’s new exhibition featuring gems from our permanent collection.

The Diego Benjamin Delgado Quartet will provide a musical backdrop for the evening while artist Emilie Rhys draws the event live. Rhys, the daughter of artist Noel Rockmore—whose iconic paintings of New Orleans musicians are featured in the exhibition—will host a brief discussion about her artistic technique after her drawing is complete.

We are also excited to welcome a pop-up shop hosted by Crescent Pennant Company. Owned by Mia and Charlie Halloran—a swing dance instructor and jazz trombonist, respectively—Crescent Pennant will offer vintage-style, hand-sewn and painted canvas pennants celebrating musical heroes from New Orleans history, including Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton.

All HNOC exhibitions will be open to explore, and the Shop and Cafe will remain open throughout the event. Admission is free, with registration encouraged on hnoc.org.
