Henri Bendel author talk with Tim Allis
December 4 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Henri Bendel—America’s first great couture importer and ladies’ dress merchant—was not French despite his name. The son of Prussian and Austrian Jews was born and raised in South Louisiana and rose to national fame as a businessman and an arbiter of style, creating an iconic brand that ran for 123 years. Louisiana-born journalist Tim Allis, author of Henri Bendel and the Worlds He Fashioned, illuminates Bendel’s Southern roots and the enterprising matriarch who instilled his know-how and gumption. Join us on December 4th, in-person or virtually, for this discussion of Bendel’s life and legacy.
