Raising the Roof: Home for the Holidays at House of Blues

[adrotate group="1"]

Event Date: December 6, 2025 |

The annual “Home for the Holidays” fundraiser, hosted by the NOCCA Foundation, once again lit up the House of Blues New Orleans.. This star-studded concert is much more than a holiday party; it is the primary benefit for the Daniel Price Memorial Fund for Aspiring Artists, directly supporting students at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA).

A Legendary Lineup

The event is celebrated for showcasing some of New Orleans’ most iconic musical talent, all performing to support the next generation of artists. This year’s lineup featured true New Orleans legends, including the “Soul Queen of New Orleans” Irma Thomas (who often performs during the exclusive patron party), alongside jazz trumpeter Kermit Ruffins, brass sensations The Soul Rebels, and the “Queen Diva” herself, Big Freedia. The diversity of the performers—from soul and jazz to bounce and brass band music—reflects the rich artistic landscape that NOCCA students represent.

The evening began with a Patron Party, offering an open bar, buffet dinner, and a special performance. This was followed by the main concert and a lively silent auction, featuring art, experiences, and items perfect for holiday gifting.

Investing in Young Artists

The funds raised at “Home for the Holidays” go directly to the Daniel Price Memorial Fund. Daniel Price, a gifted visual arts alumnus of NOCCA, was tragically killed in 2003 while protecting his wife. The fund was established by his family and the NOCCA Foundation to honor his memory by turning tragedy into a legacy of support.

The money provides scholarships to outstanding NOCCA graduates, enabling them to pursue higher education in fine arts disciplines across the country. Over the years, this fundraiser has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars, ensuring that talented young artists can afford college and fulfill their creative potential, carrying forward the spirit and passion for art that Daniel Price embodied. It stands as a powerful example of the community investing in its own cultural future.
