A Night of Latin Celebration: The Azúcar Ball

[adrotate group="1"]

Event Date: December 6, 2025 |

The Azúcar Ball is New Orleans’ premier celebration of Hispanic heritage and culture, renowned as the “Best Dancing Party in New Orleans.” Held this year at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, the black-tie gala served as the biggest fundraiser for the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation (NOHHF).

Honoring Hispanic Culture

Every year, the Azúcar Ball selects a theme to celebrate the culture of a specific Latin American country. The 2025 event, themed “Luces de Ensueño en la Ceiba,” was a vibrant celebration of Honduras, showcasing the country’s rich traditions, music, and flavors. The atmosphere in the Hyatt’s Empire Ballroom was electric, filled with attendees enjoying authentic Latin cuisine from dozens of New Orleans’ best restaurants, all while dancing to high-energy Latin music provided by live bands and DJs.

A key moment of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Gálvez Cup to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the Foundation and the wider community. This award is named after Don Bernardo de Gálvez, a Spanish governor of Louisiana who was instrumental during the American Revolution.
