The Arts District of New Orleans has just made a new announcements – Jammin’ on Julia will take place on May 1, 2021, from 12-7pm. Jammin’ on Julia is a Spring art walk and music festival hybrid event. The festival will feature world class art exhibitions along Julia Street and the surrounding area, with musical performances in select galleries. The event is free and open to the public and is the perfect opportunity to discover great art, music and cuisine as you stroll through the famous New Orleans Arts District. Jammin’ on Julia guests will get the opportunity to enjoy live music, art, libations and even an online auction. Cuisine will be offered by a variety of restaurants in the area. Musical performances by local musicians will take place in LeMieux Gallery, JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY, Arthur Roger Gallery, Callan Contemporary, Ariodante, Octavia Art Gallery, Martine Chaisson Gallery, and SPILLMAN | BLACKWELL Fine Art. In conjunction with Jammin’ on Julia, the’ Arts Council and The Helis Foundation will celebrate the official unveiling of “You Are What You Eat” a mural by artist Jessica Strahan from 3 – 5 PM, at Legacy Park (730 Baronne St.) in partnership with Downtown Development District, International High School of New Orleans, and New Orleans Arts District. This event will feature a youth arts showcase, music by DJ Gamma Bloom and mini farmers market featuring Paradigm Gardens and Farm to Funk Ferments.
