On Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, 2 Poydras St, New Orleans, LA,,  Jewish Children’s Regional Service (JCRS) will present Jewish Roots of Rhythm & Blues 2020. This is the 9th annual gala that JCRS will be hosting and it has developed into the signature Jewish gathering in New Orleans.

Jewish Roots of Rhythm & Blues 2020

This year the Beerman Family will be honored at the Jewish Roots of Rhythm & Blues 2020. The Beerman family members claim a near 100 year history with the original 19th century Jewish Children’s Home orphanage. Six Beerman siblings were residents in the home in the 1920s and today family members have continued to support JCRS in the Jewish Roots of Rhythm & Blues 2020 gala.

The Jewish Roots of Rhythm & Blues 2020 gala will feature a wonderful music lineup from the Great American Songbook performed by JCRS “success stores” who are educational scholarship recipients that are currently pursing advanced degrees in musical performance. Basil Alter, violin, is at the Manhattan School of Music; Joshua Dolney, trumpet, is at the University of Illinois; Joshua Sadinsky, piano, is at Cal Arts; and Caroline Samuels, double bass, is at Boston University.

The Jewish Roots of Rhythm & Blues 2020 event will have a cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner. There will be silent auction that has great items like shopping gift certificates, restaurants certificates and vacations.
